Loyal love

Lamentations 3:21-31 The Message

God's loyal love couldn't have run out,
His merciful love couldn't have dried up.
They're created new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I'm sticking with GOD (I say it over and over).
He's all I've got left.
God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
To the woman who diligently seeks.
It's a good thing when you're young
To stick it out through the hard times.
When life is heavy and hard to take,
Go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don't ask questions:
Wait for hope to appear.
Don't run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The "worst" is never the worst.
Why? Because the Master won't ever
Walk out and fail to return.
If He works severely, He also works tenderly.
His stockpiles of loyal love are immense.
He takes no pleasure in making life hard,
In throwing roadblocks in the way.

Loyal love. I like that. It makes me think of princes and princesses, loyal knights, castles, and far away lands of Happily Ever Afters. What girl doesn't dream of those things. I know I have and my girls do even in their young hearts. Selah and Abby comment nearly every day about being a princess. What I tend to forget in my busy days of mommyhood, is that I am a Princess, the daughter of the King of all Kings. No, I am not yet dwelling in the castles of my Father or skipping through the meadows of His Kingdom, I am on a journey and this journey is hard...not at all what I thought it would be. But just because I haven't gotten "my" way doesn't mean God isn't faithful. No, when I get my tiara stuck in the mud of regret and my gown smeared with jealousy God, my Father King, is faithful.  He is faithful to forgive me, faithful to teach me, faithful and guide me, faithful in His loyal love for me.

He's back

He is back and in love. I'm thinking Neal is going to go fishing a lot more this summer! That is ok with me as long as I can get more Shipsy trips in!

Float tube

Well, Neal got his float tube today. He worked as a sub-teacher at the local middle school and high school to pay for it, ordered it last week and it came today. We were working in the garden when I heard the UPS truck come to a screeching halt in front of our house (they FLY down our road!). I called over to Neal to let him know, and he nearly jumped the fence to meet the guy. Hadn't seen him move that fast for a while! Anyway, after a few minutes he came around the house carrying a big box with an even bigger smile on his face! I thought he was going to explode with anticipation! Needless to say, the box was opened and here are a few pictures of it set up in the living room. He took it out this evening, he isn't home yet, but I can't wait to hear his fish stories.

One very happy man
