There are two types of cancer within the many kinds that plague this earth. One attacks the physical body and the other the spirit and mind. They have so much in common. Each person can look whole, their bodies covering the illness hiding inside . They both have good days and bad days. Both affect the family, the children, the spouse. Both affect the person's job. Both affect the quality of life....drastically. They are both potentally dieing. In both cases the future is so uncertain, especially for the family.
And yet, one is fought with medical teams, friends and family on a mission to conquer and support in finances and continuous prayers. The other though, is fought silently, within the walls of the home, with most who know the person not knowing about the deadly attacker that is lerking. And if it was discovered what would be the response? Usually it is something like, "It's not that bad, it will go away." or "It's just selfishness, get over it." without understanding what kind of death is really taking place. The immediate family in this case, endures alone. Usually the spouse takes on double the responsabilities and tries to cover for the one suffering, trying to make things look "normal"...

Chloe`'s New Doo
It is a well known fact that any baby of mine will not have hair for the first year or two of life. So, I decided to give Chloe` some. I didn't come up with this brilliant idea on my own but thought I could make one fast and cheap...and it worked! Now Chloe` is sporting a 'new do' and I think it is adorable...what do you think? Is it something people would buy if I made a large variety of them to choose from?...just a thought. Bebe Doo makes them for $20 + each.

America's Birthday!
Summer goes by so quick, it is already a week into July! We had a lot of fun this year with the 4th of July, "America's Birthday" as the girls like to call it. Slip and Slides, sparklers, birthday cake and hot dogs with a baseball game playing in the back ground is what you would have found at the Eckert house this year. Neal has worked most 4ths since we've been married so it was nice to have him home.
There is something about this holiday that I just love. To add to the list above there is the warm weather, playing outside with the kids, watermelon, ice cream, and especially the fireworks. Here in Indiana you can put on a show in your back yard like they do at an actual fireworks display! There are a few pictures of our holiday weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I had a big smear on my lens until it was too late...
Selah drinking out of the sprinkler
America's birthday cake. Funny story. This is Selah's first cake that she mixed by herself. I just directed her while feeding Chloe` on the couch. She did a great job! When eating it, I came across several "crunchies" and was confused, I checked the eggs she cracked in a bowl and knew none of the shells got in. So after another crunch I asked if she knew what it was....I guess Grace Anne had helped. Grace Anne dropped an egg on the floor and then put the shells in the bowl. Selah never told me or took them out! Ha!
Neal using his newest toy...a weed eater. He does a great job with the yard and the garden! He may only have one thumb but it is sure a green one!
Cotton candy for the fireworks. We can see them from our front porch...such a blessing with little ones!!!
